Underwater Welding and Cutting
When a steel structure is damaged below the waterline, it can often be repaired in place by divers, without draining or dry-docking. EPRONS divers carry out underwater welding and cutting as part of port, marine construction and salvage works.

Typical jobs
- Repair of steel structures of quays, piers and piles
- Repairs on the underwater part of ships afloat
- Cutting of steel piles, pipes and structures during demolition
- Cutting of wrecks and scrap for removal
- Removal of obstructions from the seabed, intakes and outfalls
- Preparation of sunken objects for lifting
Safety first
Welding and cutting underwater are among the most demanding diving jobs. The work is planned and carried out under our safety management system (ISO 45001), with surface support for every diver. All work is done by qualified commercial (industrial) divers. EPRONS Ltd has a quality management system (ISO 9001) and an occupational health and safety management system (ISO 45001) certified by DNV Latvia.

Combined with inspection
We document the structure before and after the work with video and photos, and can add metal thickness measurements and an inspection of the whole structure. Where needed, the work is combined with underwater concreting or blasting.
